Globalization has many effects on almost every country within the world, it is the interdependence created between countries. It is nearly impossible for someone today to not use or own a product that was produced internationally. Globalization has increased dramatically due to the ease of transporting items now at a faster and cheaper rate, and the increasing demand due to population. Canada is known to be one of the more globally integrated countries in the world. The government is a big part of this interdependence due to their active participation in international organizations. Canadians economy is largely influenced by trade and many of the citizens travel abroad frequently. The three main ways that Canada has globalized is through trade, political power, and culture. Trade is an economic aspect, and affects the country both positively and negatively. The price of production is cheaper and it is easier for the country to not have to manufacture all the goods to support the population. At the same time though, the trades can bring in unwanted diseases into the country very easily. In today’s world I think that trade is inevitable to avoid, and that all countries will have to depend on some type of international trade. The next interdependence is political power and is due to the international organizations and agreements that play a role in Canada’s government decision-making. One issue that arises with this, is the loss of national dependence and the transfers of power. This leads to a limited government and a more open market. The last interdependence that can easily be seen in Canada is the culture. There has been a large advance in technology changes and modern culture: music, entertainment, and food. This is due to the increase in immigrants and their impact on making a more diverse country. Changing in cultures can be good and bad. I think the negative impact will revolve around the bad aspect of culture change, due to increased drug use, and bad influences that are seen in pop culture. On the positive aspect though, having more diverse countries will increase the knowledge of different lifestyles and inform the citizens of different traditions and ways of living. Overall Canadian independence is similar to the United States and is having a positive impact on the economy.

I was interested in reading more about the specifics in Canada's globalization because when I think about Canada I cant really picture a specific culture. I don't really know anything about Canada, but you do a very good job giving me a lot of insight into both their society, and their society in relation to the world. I never really thought about how political powers can relate to globalization in a negative way and you did a really good job explaining that. I did my project on Turkey and their globalization efforts are pretty much the same as Canada's- except they are just trying to get modernized!

I really enjoyed your opening view on globalization because I had never really though about the fact that most of the products we use today come from another country. I also never really though about how political power could relate to globalization. I found it really interesting that Canada in involved in many international organizations but how that also affects their decision making. i really liked how you looked at how globalization can affect a country overall and then tied it in to how it specifically affects Canada.
